How To Write a Resume (for Tour Guides & Docents)
January 25 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Anyone registering after 5 pm on Thursday January 25 will receive the recording of the workshop only.
The Association of Philadelphia Tour Guides (APT) is organizing a ‘how-to’ workshop on resume writing for tour guides and docents in advance of APT’s first ever job fair on Saturday, February 24. The workshop will be led by Hannah Wallace, formerly of Christ Church and now with Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, on Thursday January 25, at 5:30 pm on Zoom. The cost is $5 for APT members and $8 for non-members, payable in the APT Store. Anyone is welcome to attend, but the workshop will focus specifically on crafting a resume for tour guide and docent (paid or volunteer) work.
In this workshop, Hannah will walk participants through the key components of creating a strong resume. Participants are encouraged to bring an existing resume to sharpen their formatting, add or edit professional summaries, and refine the keywords used to capture their professional experience. Inquiries on other professional resources, such as headshots, LinkedIn profiles, letters of recommendation, and cover letters will be addressed if time allows.
Hannah Wallace is the Creative Youth Development Manager with the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance. She also works as an independent consultant to cultural institutions throughout Philadelphia. Hannah earned her BA in African American Studies from Temple University and an MA in Museum Education from the University of the Arts.
The event will be recorded; those who are unable to attend that evening are encouraged to purchase a ticket to receive the recording afterwards. The Zoom link will be sent a day or two ahead to those who register online in the APT Store.
