How To Use Power Point and Zoom for Virtual Presentations and Tours

March 29 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Do health or mobility issues make it challenging to do walking tours? Are you reluctant to be out and about with large groups of people? Would you like another option for sharing your knowledge beyond just those who can come to Philadelphia in person?

Last month’s ‘how to’ presentation covered the technology behind virtual and livestream tours. Some questions after the session indicated that a workshop on making PowerPoint slides and using Zoom for virtual presentations and tours could be useful as a follow up. Being able to offer virtual presentations and tours on historical subjects is a great addition to a guide’s repertoire in this post-Covid world.

To that end, the Association of Philadelphia Tour Guides (APT) is offering a workshop on Wednesday, March 29, at 7 pm on Zoom, ‘How To Use PowerPoint and Zoom for Virtual Presentations and Tours.’ It is a basic workshop for those who have not used (or would like a refresher in) PowerPoint for making slides and using them in a zoom presentation.

You’ll learn:
• How to create an interesting PowerPoint presentation from start to finish
• Where to find usable artwork and historic photos
• Time-saving, easy-to-follow research advice
• Tips to make the presentation successful
• Zoom basics

APT members Marianne Ruane and Jim Murphy will lead the session. Cost is $5 for members and $8 for non-members. Registration is in the APT Store. (Use the ‘how to’ series button.) Zoom link will be sent to all attendees the morning of the workshop, and the session will be recorded. Please join us!
